I think my love of garlic is no secret...

And today I came across a simple recipe for combining two of the most
wonderful foodstuffs on the planet.
Chocolate covered Garlic:

I knew it existed but I've never found it anywhere.
That just sounds so yummie I'm getting hungry just thinking about it...

So, those of you who are going...

Due to the strike I'm gonna aim to be in Soho for about 19:00.
Anyone fancy a drink pre-G&S?
I'm guessing The Fox or The Ship would be the most obvious choices, but maybe we should give The Polarbear a try. I've been there before with [livejournal.com profile] ellebabe, [livejournal.com profile] flannelcat and [livejournal.com profile] penguin_worship and it was a most agreeable and lovely place...

G&S opens at 20:00 and I hope to be one of the first people there to maximise the drinking time...

Continues this Saturday.
As you all know, I hate garlic and I'm currently attempting to destroy it all by consuming as much of it as humanly possible :)
So, who's coming this Saturday?
And should we book a table?

Hooray for Garlic & Shots
Hooray for a valiant attempt at drinking them dry
Hooray for cute bar staff that keep bringing me drinks and food

And a double hooray for indiscriminate picture taking :)
Pictures are here.
There are quite a few as I have posted all 128 pictures I took...

After 15+ shots and a same if not more beers I think I'm excused from Viking practice today...

Christmas is cancelled courtesy of the Danish airforce.
Hooray :)

And apparently being a godless atheist and the scourge of 'religous morality' is good for society...
Hooray for godless morality.
Hooray for Unholy Rollers (lyrics)...
I also like that Scandinavia was mentioned as a godless part of the world.
Hooray for Scandinavia :)
I will celebrate Scandinavia tonight and tomorrow in a Swedish bar/restaurant.
Hooray for Swedish bars and restaurants.

Hmm, you can tell that it's Friday and I've been paid :)
Hooray for being paid

The weekends starts here :)
Tonight, Dragonforce gig at The Barfly in Camden @ 19:30 \mm/
I saw them in Wacken and they rawked.
Tomorrow it's dinner and drinks with the ever wonderful [livejournal.com profile] camillat...
Saturday is the big one:
The Champion of The Shots Night at Garlic & Shots
Their shots menu has 101 shots on it...
And we're gonna start with numero uno and work our way towards number 101. Rar.
The excitement starts at about 17:30 - 18:00.
I expect a strong showing from [livejournal.com profile] vrghost and [livejournal.com profile] elijahtc.
I also expect Garlic & Shots to run out of Parsley reasonably early on :)

Meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] velvetfur & [livejournal.com profile] spikey_bastard in The Dev briefly last night was fun.
Dinner at the Thai place in Camden was nice too.
Spending the rest of the evening with [livejournal.com profile] velvetfur catching up and getting the occassional text message from [livejournal.com profile] spikey_bastard informing us of the progress of his campaign, his glorious victory and eventual anti-victory.

Have showered, shaved and dresed. Now ready to go and see the Frida Kahlo exhibition.
This should hopefully be followed by garliccy goodness at my favourite garlic emporium :)

Well, that was a damn good weekend.
It started Thursday when I celebrated [livejournal.com profile] blakeshell's birthday.
[livejournal.com profile] himal was there which was nice as he hasn't been out in ages.
The organ concert we went to wasn't exactly my kinda thing and fortunately the others were of the same opinion so we left about halfway through.
We then went to a nice little pub where I got a pint of good German beer for only... £1.97.
Wow, that must be the cheapest pint in The City.

Dead & Buried was good as always. Spent most of the evening chatting to [livejournal.com profile] bad_faery and [livejournal.com profile] glenndm. It was good to see lots of people I hadn't seen in a while.
On the way home we popped by a kebab shop so [livejournal.com profile] spikey_bastard could have his traditional post-club kebab :)
£7 but it was a bloody big and good kebab with meaty treats of much delight.

Crashed, woke up, went to Camden, spent money.
Got a rather nice Cyberdog top which I can wear and I almost don't have to suck my gut in. Well, not much anyway :)
Also got a new pair of New Rock boots. Yay.
They are exactly like my old pair, but with slightly shorter straps. The reason is that I have finally given up trying to clean my old ones.
Simply too much mud and dust on them, so they will be my festival shoes from now on, and my new ones will be for normal day to day use.
Then The Dev, home, preen and Garlic & Shots. Mmmmm.
Texas xxx-Hot Chili In a Pan. Yummie.
Went to Slimes afterwards but my companions had very little alcohol as we left G&S after 23:00. Ooops.
Slimes was fantastic. One of my best in a long time. Saw and chatted to many people. Danced lots. Had fun.
And how nice it is to be the one who managed to dance till the very end non-munted, when ones munted friends couldn't.
Phear my l33t Danish stamina.

Home to catch a few hours kip and then off to Camden again. I used my switch card with utter impunity and have been rewarded with several goodies. 2 Corvus Corax CDs, Torture Garden tickets, more stuff from Cyberdog and a pair of white New Rock trainers :)
Woo yay.

Then Dev with lot's more people I hadn't seen in ages and ages. It was good. Very good.

So, a really good weekend where I saw lot's of people I hadn't seen for a while. I would give this weekend 8 golden stars out of ten.
People really shouldn't move to Luton ;)

And one last new icon.

The Garlic ones are of course for posts about Garlic & Shots :)

Normally I'm strong and I stick to a reasonably healthy life style.
I am, however, allowed the occassional cheat day, and I think it's safe to say that tomorrow Yesterday was a cheat day to last a month :)
Breakfast was a double chocolate chip muffin followed by a chocolate croissant. I ate cookies throughout the day (It's a habit in this office to have cookies readily available) and a nice big pasty for lunch.
After work it was off to The Intrepid Fox where the drinking started...
The reason for midweek drinking was a friends birthday, so the birthday boy Matt, Iselle and a mate called Gareth went on an adventure in beer and Garlic :)
Several pints later it was off to Garlic & Shots where much hilarity, excellent food and far too many shots ensued.
When the waitress brings your table a round of shots on the house you know you've been good customers :)
Some excellent pictures will be up later and it was worth it to have a cheat day...

We also decided that on the first day of the month of October we will attempt the impossible.
We shall start with the magnificent bloodshot and then make our way through the entire Garlic & Shots shots list. There are four of us who will go down in flames if necessary. Our livers are acceptable losses in this battle :)
I could imagine [livejournal.com profile] elijahtc and [livejournal.com profile] vrghost joining us for this attempt...?
Hopefully this time my wonderful friend Iselle won't try to get a person at our table to ask the waitress out :)

And in other news:

Fairly good weekend.
Friday was Garlic & Shots time where I finally had a big fat Transylvanian Blood Steak. Mmmm.
I have been dreaming about that for a long time.

Saturday I went to Slimes which was quite good. Met up with an old friend at The Dev first and then went onwards and upwards from there.

Sunday was chill-out and my house mate Andy and I watched a couple of good movies.

Today I watched Requiem For a Dream.
Damn good movie and well worth watching. Not pleasant though...
