Whoa. Thank god for back-ups.
I just accidentally deleted the contents of a relatively important file and then saved it.

Fortunately my server makes a back-up file of all my personal documents, e-mails and so on every morning at 10 and then copies that file to two other hardrives for a bit of added security.
Mmm, I feel very smug and clever right now.

So, you don't have any off-site backup? =;-)

Good point actually.
Tomorrow I'll see how long it would take to upload my back-up file to my hosting provider ;)

I take bavckups of my documents and images of the system partitions of my servers every night - too much data to transfer via broadband. For a time I used IDE caddies but it's difficult to get ones that don't wear out mechanically very quickly. Now I'm using a USB2/IDE box and that's great - fast and hot-pluggable.

My back-up file (Yes, I use NT Back-up to create a bkf file) is about 350mb, so I reckon it might finish transferring by the time I get home from work.
I just have to try to remember how to write an ftp script. It's been far to many years since I did that kind of thing,

Also, most of my machines are iMac like all-in-one units, so they're not really that easily upgradeable. I also need a solution that won't cost me anything as I'm horrendously close to broke at the moment.

Why don't you get it to automatically print off a copy of said document every minute then utilise some form of robotic arm to automatically staple them to your face.

Because I'd be forever bumping into things if I can't see where I'm going :)
