Also, currently drooling over the Creative Zen Vision:M...
It looks good except for one thing. It's black on the front, and white on the back.
WHY?
Argh.
It's received fantastic reviews and has decent storage space.
Hmmm, sorely tempting...

I also have 5 days holiday left to take but not enough money to go on a 'proper' holiday.
I'm tempted to just be lazy in London but I feel that would almost be a waste.
On the other hand, it would be pretty good to go to the gym twice a day for a week and spend the rest of the time stuffing my face and studying.

And I give you, the best begging sign evar:

it must be a creative style decision. when i got my zen micro out of the box, i was stunned that it was white everywhere except for the front. all the photos i had seen were taken on a white background so you assumed it was one colour all over! still, i have grown to love it.

Yeah, I suspect I'll probably like it a lot if I do decide to get it (And I probably will...)

Do, get it and then I can decide if I'm getting one. Already decided on a Creative over iPod, sound quality alone is much better. Just which model to get?

ipods are fine with a decent pair of headphones. The apple headphones are shite though.

I think the words 'The' and 'headphones' are superfluous in that sentence :-p

Yay, beat the apple bastards to a pulp...

Give Emagic back to PC's...

This is not about Macs V PCs. Just the fact that Creative make superior mp3 players to Apple!

Anything to do with Apple gives me licence to rant about them buying Emagic :/

I have heard very good things about them too :)

But I wouldn't give that guy any money because he put an apostrophe in "ninjas".

That Zen looks pretty sweet - and I'd love a 60Gb player, but 16hrs battery life is a bit naff. I love about the Sony mp3 players because of their battery life but they don't come in very big sizes :(

My 20Gb NW-HD3 is damn small and runs for ages but only has a 20Gb drive which is purpetually full.

I'm a bit concerned that 30gb isn't enough for me, but I suspect that with a bit of pruning it will be.
My MP3 collection is a shade over 160gb so I'll have to try to pick my favourites.

Aye - same here. I had to really cut back to get 20Gb on mine. Basically just the albums I listen to a lot. When I put it on random it's just awesome :)

On the other hand, my current MP3 player is a measly 4.5gb, so I think I can live with 30gb for a while...
Especially since I have just ordered it :)

That's a fantastic idea :)
Let me figure out which gigs I'm going to and when in October/November and then we can plan...?

Cool!

I'm on holiday myself next week, and not doing anything much. (well i *should* be working out how to organise my life..)

7/8 are already booked, 9/10 are my last days of work (but that wouldnt preclude you staying here...off 11/12/13. Training course in Brighton 14 -20th. No commitments week of 22nd to 28th at present, then away on another course.

After 3rd November things *may* get incredibly busy as there's 4 potential overseas training options....although NONE are confirmed, and thus i *could* have a suddenly un busy November (ah the uncertainty of going freelance!)
Equally if i am overseas that also doesnt preclude guests, as D would probably relish the company...!

i'm impressed by how clear that all sounds!
