So, who actually voted for that moron?

And why?
And anyone who can't come up with a better reason than 'He's not Ken' really doesn't deserve to vote.

Great, we've voted for a clown and will be laughed at for the next 4 years.

"And anyone who can't come up with a better reason than 'He's not Ken' really doesn't deserve to vote."

funny, since the inverse seemed to be a key component of his opponents' platforms. what little respect I had for the green party evaporated at that point.

Anyone who voted for Ken because 'At least he's not Boris' should also not be allowed to vote.
As a side note, if you can't justify why you're voting for someone by outlining which of their policies you agree with you shouldn't be allowed to vote!

At least his opponents stood for something. Boris only seemed to have things he was against, not anything he was for...

Oh, well, glad we agree then ;)

Medicinal marijuana, a soft line on immigration, and sexy buses (only kiddin'). That plus the usual noises about crime. Shame Paddick won't work with him, although I think I prefer him as a police commander.

I voted for Brian Paddick. I kind of knew it'd be a wasted vote, but I wanted to make the point that people should vote for who they damn well like regardless of their perceived 'chances'.

See you in Leipzig? I'll be there Wednesday.

My sentiments exactly. The fact that the other parties backed each other was more to keep Boris out.

Anyhow, more worrying is the fact that the BNP managed to get a seat in the GLA. What the hell is happening, London?!

*bear hug* I am so relieved to see you write that (after our differences of opinion on prisons etc. *s*)

That's the argument I had with Mark earlier.

I don't see my vote as wasted by not voting for Ken or Boris.

"So, who actually voted for that moron?"

As Ken Livingstone has been the sole holder of this position and is not likely to be able to do it in four years time (as he would no doubt retire) I think that a change was due.

I am impressed at the amount of interest stirred up for this election - I voted in 2004 and no one seemed to care then! I hope it holds until the next general election.

So your reason for voting for that buffoon was that he wasn't Ken?

Please tell me that you know what his policies are and that that was the real reason you voted for him...

Yes I do and yes it was.

My favourite is that he wants to bring back the routemaster buses!
